Andreas Bender from Leiwen, a small town directly on the Mosel River, is proudly nonconformist: which is perhaps why his wines are so spectacular.
His respect for tradition in a modern world is integral to his identity, his wines, and his “Universal Moto.” It is upheld in the cellar and on the vineyard where modern technique is of little importance. He believes in traditionally made wines, “Weine wie früher,” with a clear understanding of the quintessential Mosel wine: a wine that stands out and allows us to experience the beautiful flavours his home has to offer.
